ABOUT

Meet the Team

Mike Turner

The true living oak from which we acorns learn and prosper, Mike is a second generation builder who has been at it since the age of nine and is a true guru in the way of all things building. Georgia born and raised, with a resumé longer than our space allows, Mike is our resident master carpenter, electrician, plumber, and painter with a true passion for stairs and trim. Here to help you in all aspects of design, timing, and knowledge, Our Mike-gyver, there is no problem in your home that Mike has not come across before; trust that Mike can fix it.

Michael Burnett

The ever optimistic and always handsome, Michael is the newest project manager in the Greater Oak family. Customer-turned-carpenter, Michael has hitched his wagon to and spurred the horses of Greater Oak to heights never before thought in the Athens area. The second Mike, and as some would say the second coming of Mike, Michael has what it takes to get the job done right. As thorough and reliable as you’d like your son to be, Michael brings the confidence you need to truly be Greater Oak Built.

Ashley Dutton

Born and raised in the heartland of peach country USA, with an unfortunate stint spent in tiger town and the land of two mascots, our office manager and human calendar, Ashley is back home in the great state of Georgia answering the phones, making the orders, and giving the boys at Greater Oak the kick in their rear ends necessary to get your projects finished on time and with a certain feminine flare. Ashley comes from a family of builders and is more often than not on-site flexing muscles and swinging hammers with Mike and Michael. Greater Oak’s All-Star and MVP, Ashley has the knowledge and contacts to make your next project with Greater Oak Built with Confidence.

VISION

Educate the next generation of builders and homeowners about what to look for and how to build in a way that will stand the test of time.

MISSION

Provide quality renovations and remodeling that exceed customer expectations.

Mike's dad helped to build Burger King restaurants all over the southeast, all of them finished in oak. Once the restaurants were trimmed out, the leftover pieces that they couldn't use on another restaurant ended up in the garage.

Those leftover pieces were turned into chess sets, bat racks, bookshelves, bunk beds, and more, serving as an opportunity to learn and develop life-long skills.

Why are we called Greater Oak?
It goes back to childhood and the way owner Mike Turner learned to build. There was always a seemingly endless supply of oak in his parents' garage.

Greater Oak builds to last. That's the way we were taught, and that's what we instill in our team and values. Don't build for today - build something that will stand the test of time.

Our dedication to quality and craftsmanship goes back to the way owner Mike Turner learned to build from his dad. Mike grew up on job sites, helping his father on commercial and residential projects. This hands-on approach to learning cultivated a life-long love for quality and dedication to continual improvement. Mike's curiosity drives him to discover the best materials, build with the best techniques, and work with clients to achieve the best results.

It's time to get going on that project you've been talking about.

Let Greater Oak turn your dreams into your reality.

Estimates are always free.
